It has been quite some time since we were last together, so firstly and a little overdue – Happy New Year to all Braintree Bowmen members and their families.
As part of the Government’s roadmap out of Covid restrictions some outdoor sports including archery will be able to restart this month, the Braintree Bowmen archery range will return to open from Tuesday 30th March and sessions will shortly become available to book on Spond as before.
To facilitate the safe return to archery, members are reminded to stay aware of national and local Covid guidance as some restrictions remain in place. The Committee strongly advises that all members give serious consideration to their own risk and consequence of infection, health circumstances and that of those they are in contact with before committing to travel and participating in this activity.
Although some restrictions are being eased, the rule of six has been reintroduced, and it remains extremely important that everyone ensures they continue to practice infection prevention measures:
Hands, Face, Space.
•Anyone experiencing symptoms of Covid or anyone who has been in contact with another experiencing symptoms must stay away from the archery range and follow the NHS guidelines.
•All members must bring and use their own hand sanitiser, this must be used every time before and after touching any common surfaces such as bosses or the equipment container.
•All members must wear a suitable face covering while moving bosses and where social distancing 2m cannot be maintained. Bosses require two persons to move, where possible these persons should be the same two at the start and end of each session.
•All members must maintain social distancing 2m at all other times where possible.
•All club equipment must be disinfected with the provided solution before being reused in the next session or before being returned to the equipment store.
•Members should ensure they are familiar with the Braintree Bowmen Health and Safety Policy and the Braintree Bowmen Covid Risk Assessment which can both be found on the Club webpages.
If members choose to attend the archery range, please do so safely and responsibly.
Unfortunately, for the time being the Club House will remain closed, the Committee will continue to review the situation on a two week schedule with respect to the national and local Covid rules and guidance.
We look forward to seeing you all again and wish you an enjoyable and successful season.
