Pilgrim Archers Shoot 2018
The Moir family represent Braintree Bowmen
Braintree Bowmen were represented at the annual Pilgrim Archers Western shoot last weekend. This event marked the 60th anniversary of this popular shoot and the archery Gods were looking favourably on the competition with warm sunshine from start to finish and barely a whisper of wind all day.
There were approximately 70 archers that took to the shooting line from Short Junior Western up to New Western and just about all forms of archery were on display.
The club are proud to say that in the Short Western category Sam Moir took the Gold medal and brother Ben the Silver medal. Other highlights included Jo Moir shooting a PB in the Long Western round and husband James scoring a seasons best in the same category. James and Jo also picked up Gold medals for finishing in first place in the Married Couples division and so took home the Married Couples trophy.
Finally, Sam was awarded the Junior Boys Trophy for the highest score by any Junior Boy throughout the day with a score of 760 giving him an average arrow score of just a whisker under 8!!
Congratulations to the Moir family for a great day's archery!
