Boxted Field Shoot October 2018 Results
Shooting through the elements
The weather was wet but the archers who signed up to our fun 3D field shoot were not about to let some rain and a bit of wind stop them from enjoying their day.
The kitchen was up and running in plenty of time for breakfast as people arrived well prepared for the elements. After a quick briefing we were off to tackle 33 targets around the woods. These ranged from a lion framed by an avenue of trees, particuarly lovely when the clouds eventually lightened, to a rather frustratingly placed boar behind a hay bale guarded by a meerkat!
Teas, coffee and hot food continued to be in high demand as the rain stopped and the kitchen did themselves proud with venison steaks and Bowman Burgers popular once again. Once the shooting had stopped, the scores were calculated and medals awarded over cake.
Thank you to all the archers who braved the elements. We hope to see you all again in February when it might be colder but hopefully brighter. The results are available here.
A huge thank you to all the Braintree Bowmen members who volunteered to help, especially Trevor and Richard for setting out the course and Alex and crew in the kitchen for keeping us all fed and watered.
